Notelemedicine is NOT appropriate for a severe asthma attack.
A severe attack can become life-threatening within minutes and requires immediate, in-person emergency care.

If you or someone nearby has asthma and is experiencing ANY of the following, call 911 (or your local emergency number) now:

🚨 Get emergency help immediately if there is

  • Severe shortness of breath or gasping for air

  • Talking only in single words or unable to speak

  • Chest retractions or ribs pulling in while breathing

  • Wheezing that is very loud — or suddenly stops

  • Lips or fingernails turning blue/gray

  • No relief after using a rescue inhaler

  • Peak flow < 50% of personal best

  • Confusion, drowsiness, or fainting

Telemedicine cannot provide oxygen, breathing treatments, steroids, monitoring, or rapid rescue care — delaying treatment is dangerous.
